The Girls are Victorious in the Club Teams TT

Well done to the team of  – Nikki Broers, Kirsten Bennett, Deb Coulls and Renee Covington to bring home gold for Illawarra CC in the Women’s Masters 140+ category at the 2017 NSW Team Time Trial Championships today. Nikki and Kirsten  were on fire, Renee you have such a champion’s spirit. A big thank you to club coach Gary Mandy who put in the hard yards to train us and for driving our support vehicle today. Legend! Also thanks to Heidi Montgomery who kindly volunteered to be a reserve – much appreciated to know we had such a great rider / person in the wings!

We also had a second Women’s team representing ICC in the Masters All Ages;

Jules VERHEYEN, Joanne VANDERSTOK, Diane HOSKING, Kym DALY

After weeks of pitch dark, freezing, pre-dawn training sessions, the NSW Club Team Time Trial Championships finally arrived.  In the end, the team rode strong, stayed tight and posted personal best times as well as coming in at fifth place overall.  Thanks to Jules for coaching and her husband Rob who was unfailingly helpful throughout with training and support on the day.

Congratulations go to the Illawarra Cycle Club’s other women’s masters team who won gold in their division!

Next year’s team time trials will be on again in Nowra in July. If you’re keen on becoming a fitter, stronger, faster rider, pencil it into your diary and join us for training in 2018.
