To see what events are coming up, you can check out the Illawarra Cycle Club’s calendar on Google and add it to your phone. The club has secured a new 8km race circuit on Mount Keira that’s safe for riders of all skill levels, with great viewing spots for spectators. Five races are planned for 2022, including a junior race. Roads will be closed to traffic from 1 pm on race day. These events align with Wollongong’s goal of promoting sport and active participation and will boost tourism and benefit local businesses. Additionally, a new 2km criterium track at the Unanderra Velodrome will be completed by the end of 2022.
