U15 Elimination winner at National Omnium Championships.

Another successful campaign from the Illawarra Cycle Club at the Bankstown Sports Cup with 13 juniors racing while Rob Beretov and Chris Allen donned club colours racing in the masters.

The Allen Family scored a Christmas bonus, with James, Lucy and Chris taking out their Wheel race. And young Sam rallied well after a slip during warm-up to finish third in his wheelrace.

With too many victories to count the club again dominated the junior racing scene, a testament to the quality coaching the club provides the kids. Well done all.

While the bulk of the club were busy sweltering in extraordinarily warm conditions, an Illawarra delegation took on the extremes of weather conditions for the tour of Bright.

Congratulations to Lucy Allen, taking out GC in the B Grade Women. She was joined with solid performance s by Grace Alcock, Hugo Alcock, Gabriel Jakobson, Tom I’Ons and Charles Alcock.

2nd last Thursday evening Criterium for the year, backing up the o after a big weekend of racing saw smaller than usual numbers but great racing nonetheless.

Thanks to the amazing team chopping, changing, weaving and dodging to keep all the balls in the air. We couldn’t run these events without hard-working volunteers. But the work is always easier when it’s shared.

Rounding off a fun weekend of racing, there were plenty of familiar faces, and some new ones at the Sunday morning Criterium.

There was plenty of rummaging though the boot if the car or scrambling for a coffee for supporters to keep warm. But enough action on the track to keep the riders toasty.

Thanks to Gary on Comms and setting up, Naomi on First Aid, Justin organising sign on, and Mim manning the coffee machine. Packing up was a tussle between the younger helpers over who got to drive the golf buggy about.

The stash of killer pythons has been restocked. And there was one extra voucher from @giantwollongong won by Tom.
