TDH 2018 Results
Great weather greeted the riders for the Tour De Huntley. My inability to sort the timing system out meant I was timing old school with a stopwatch – Phone. After the TT we had to wait 30min to put the TC signs out at Marshall Mount, that gave Peter Amos and I time to work out the calculations. Danny Hennersey gave us a run down history of how the TDH was conceived back in the day so that we had an understanding of the time deductions as some of us were unaware. The road race set off with riders attacking each other in all grades to try to get the time bonuses on offer. As you will see from the results it made for close finishing time overall, with some people (Luigi) miss calculating their times! Merrick Law picked up heap of time bonuses beating Luke Meers by 2 seconds in A grade and Tony Leslie edging out Luigi Palermo by 3 seconds.
37km Cram Power Handicap
Well done to Sarah Cliffe for being able to stay away Solo for the the whole race. The wind picked up with 40km hr gusts making it hard coming back to the club house with echelones being formed which was really hard as the road condition was difficult. We had some new riders and riders returning after a break from racing, so it was a tough introduction and return to racing. The 2 Simon’s – Clarke and Kersten brought it home ahead of the bunch. Some good numbers are returning to racing. Thanks to; Computer – Jason Hogan and Phil Jones Commissaire – Jeff TC – Kerrie Lee, Shane O’Brien, Bernie O’Neil, Marco Sousa, David Soto.
